INF Writing Tutorial - 4 - UpdateInis
Sometimes, you may need to modify INI files from within your INF script. The UpdateInis directive allows you to do this. INI file manipulation allows you to create or modify the settings of a program, change your default shell, or even modify another INF file given INIs and INFs have a very similar syntax. Although INIs were more often used in the days of Windows 3.x, there's still plenty of programs being actively developed which rely on INI files for loading settings.
